Sensitive teeth: five things that help

A twinge with cold drinks is common, and usually easy to calm down.

Sensitive teeth usually come from worn enamel or gums that have shrunk back a little. A few changes help most people within a month.

Five things to try

  • Use a sensitive toothpaste and spit, don’t rinse.
  • Brush gently with a soft brush.
  • Wait an hour after fizzy drinks or fruit before brushing.
  • Wear a night guard if you grind.
  • Tell us if it lasts: we can seal sensitive spots.
